What is your favorite thing about being an esthetician?

I love bringing confidence out of someone.

Whether that be skin or makeup related. Helping someone with a struggle, finding the solution, and the happiness and power it brings after all of it—it's a super special bond you get to have with someone.

What made you interested in becoming an esthetician?

I've always been very into beauty, makeover, fascinated with the body/health/wellness.

I had STACKS of magazines and would know what were the best products for the season. I would go into chat rooms, read reviews on products, and give my two cents. When it came time to start applying to college, I knew I wanted to get my license first and learn the trade since that has always been my first love. No one was shocked that I went to beauty school either—it's just who I've always been as a person and I am super grateful to have something I've always been passionate about.

What are your top 3 super hero ingredients?

Glycolic Acid

The most well rounded acid that isn't too weak or too strong.

Hyaluronic Acid

A drink of water to the skin. We all need it.

Niacinamide

The underdog; helps any source of inflammatory-based issue.

What are your top 3 favorite skincare tips?

Double cleanse at night with an oil based cleanser

This is super helpful for breakout prone skin, as certain tinted products and even sunscreens leave a residue behind that sometimes a regular cleanser just can't break down.

Acids Acids Acids

They do so much and you can find so many formulas/strengths with flexible price ranges too. It's like excercising for the skin—everyone should be doing it consistently and it will pay off.

Hyaluronic Acid—again.

We all need it. It helps to balance the pH and keep that top layer strong. Usually, by incorporating this ingredient into a client's routine, it will show me how much work needs to be done once it starts balancing and hydrating. It's one of those things that just always fixes most problems.
