How to shrink your pores.

First, the less-than-good news: you can’t actually shrink your pores. Pore size is a genetic trait just like eye color. Now, the much better news: you can greatly minimize the appearance of your pores with the right products and a bit of patience.

If your pores appear to be large, it’s likely because they’re stretched due to clogging from excess oil and dead skin cells. By clearing out your pores, you can greatly minimize that stretching and reduce their appearance.

Here's how to do it.

The breakdown
  • 01
    Cleanse regularly

Consistently washing your face in the morning and at night will help to keep daily, pore-stretching grime away.

  • 02
    Bring in the heavy hitters.

For the best results, you'll likely need to bolster your regimen with a bit more power. A salicylic acid-rich toner will help to further clear your pores, while a Niacinamide-based serum will help to restore your pores to their actual (smaller) size by upping your skin's elasticity.

  • 03
    Give it time.

Most successful clinical studies in visible pore reduction are conducted over three months. Stay consistent and give it a little time. By the way, nobody notices your pore but you.
